List of Smart Queue Management (SQM) routers

Is there a list of consumer routers with Smart Queue Management (SQM) support with stock firmware?

Anything with a Qualcomm chip with Streamboost support or based on a modern OpenWRT or a very modern Linux kernel should have SQM available by default, right?

Unfortunately, identifying specific Qualcomm Streamboost chips is not easy since their detailed datasheets are not open.

Is the Netgear R7800 (X4s AC2600) 4x4 router really the only modern consumer router with stock support for SQM...

Is there anyway I can access my modem from my XR500

Hi,

I have a XR500 with a Draytek Vigor 130 modem attached to it on Bridge mode for PPoea connection.

I am wanting to access the Modem GUI from my router but I don't know if its possible. Router is on 192.168.0.1 and Modem is 192.168.1.1.

Only way at the moment is to connect directly to the modem.

Plume is moving to a subscription based system for their products in order to maintain the features which they refer to as "Active Management", though they fail to detail what that entails, and if the subscription is not paid, they claim that the products will continue to function but with reduced functionality (though no mention as to what extent).

The article also mentions that existing Plume Pod owners will be grandfathered in, but it does not detail to what extent in relation to the...

I'm technically savvy, but pretty much a noob to networked storage solutions for small businesses. I'm overwhelmed with the options available. I'm hoping to receive some suggestions that I can investigate further. Below are some details on how the NAS would be used, it's environment, and minimum requirements. Thank you in advance for the guidance.

  • It will be behind an AT&T router at my home. I have fiber to the premises. I am currently paying for 50 up and 50...

I have a qnap box on 192.168.1.241 with virtual hosts, I want to be able to access these host across the network. I have added these to my RT-AC68U running 384.5

Is blacklist enabled 24hrs?

If the Network Services Filter blacklist is enabled from 00:00 to 23:59 (the default) will it also work in that last minute to midnight, from 23:59 to 0:00? Or can I expect a problem with it failing? How do we get it to block devices from WAN 24/7 without failing?

10GB Connection Performance tweaking

Does anyone know a guide on how to tweak the intel X540 T2 for performance, I have got currently 2 same NIC's between my windows 10 pc and my OmniOS NAS, I seem to be only getting about 120 mbps, where I should expect to see about 300 > with my disk and hardware.

I have currently got the below settings changed on both machines:

Jumbo frame at 9000
Flow control off

Then on the windows PC:
Interrupt Moderation = Disabled
Receive Buffers = 4096
Transmit Buffers = 16384

Then on the NAS...

Both Wireless Bands Disappear

Team, I have an issue with the latest, RT-AC88U_384.5_0.zip.

I loaded the new flash a couple of weeks ago onto my AC88U and had no problems until last night when I noticed that both wireless bands disappeared and the inside web interface was REALLY slow so I restarted the router. After reboot I had wireless, both bands, about 30 minutes then they disappeared again. Restart again and get the same result.

So I loaded...

Routing between Ubuntu OpenVPN and MikroTik

My goal is to be able to connect to private LAN (192.168.1.0/24) via Ubuntu VPS.

For example I want this forwarding: http://{Ubuntu WAN IP}:443 --> http://{Private LAN IP}:443

Please take a look at attached screenshots.

As I understand the problem is in inability to communicate between two gateways 192.168.7.1 and 192.168.1.1.

- Ubuntu VPS knows the route to private LAN subnet (192.168.1.0/24) and MikroTik router knows route to OpenVPN network...

I'm back with Merlin fw after being with John's fork for a long time, then Orbi. Demoted my Orbi to an access point and reinstalled my AC68U with latest Merlin.

So I'm new to this AiProtection thing. Dumb noob question: is AiProtection a subscription you pay TrendMicro for, or is it built in to the fw at no extra expense?

I am getting IPv6 DHCPSOLICITs in my log pretty much every minute all the time. What does this mean, and should I be concerned?

Maybe I am a bit slow in the update, but just in case for those interested and unaware. I just upgraded my RT-AC5300 to the latest firmware and all good, no problems to report, running AiMesh. Firmware version as per Subject title. Update completed via Web GUI, straight upgrade, no factory reset/initialize done for the upgrade. Update notification of firmware was from the Web GUI.

My RT-AC5300 is the primary router and ALL nodes remained connected after upgrade completion....

Aimesh multiple google homes.

Hello, i currently have a RT AC5300 and two RT AC86U's setup in aimesh. Is there a way to setup separate ssid's for each node as i have 7 google home mini's and would like them on one ssid so i am able to group them all together for audio. I have named the one ssid to ie ssid 2.4 but becuase of the mesh any of the ones on different nodes are not seen by the option to group. I am happy with the way the rest of my devices connect to the mesh system but would like to assign the google home...

Enclosed are a couple of photos of the new wireless routers.

Interesting things I learnt from the show talking to the lovely Asus customer rep.
  • If you already have an aimesh system, there is not point getting the new routers for that because they are running on the new ax band.
  • The Lyra products will eventually join up with the current aimesh system
  • The guest network functionality for aimesh nodes is currently under development but it there is no release date just yet....

"Reminder: The System time zone is different from your locale setting."

Env: RT-AC68U / ASUSWRT 3.0.0.4.384_21045

What does this message even mean? Where are there two different time zone settings? I only see a system one. Where is there a "locale setting" time zone?

My system time zone is correctly set to (GMT-10:00) Hawaii. There are no DST settings to set. Which is correct, because there is no DST here. The system time shown on the logs page is correct.

Is this just some kind of bug/bad message?

At this point; things still looks dim to have RT-AC86U support IGMP Snooping for IPTV boxes (ex. CenturyLink Prism TV) :(

AIProtection service not loading at startup

Since a few releases I’m having troubles with AIProtection Service not starting at router startup. It’s completely aleatory, sometimes I can see IDPfw is ready in log and sometimes not and it’s easy to know if AIProtection is loaded looking to RAM consumption (if around 42% not loaded and if about 49% loaded).

My questions are: someone else with this behavior? And how can I force IDPfw to load at the end of router startup using a script?

Another point is that this happens only if OpenVPN...

Connection Reset with RT-N66U

Recently I have been facing an issue with connections to specific sites resetting. Most sites works completely fine and throw no errors. Refreshing the page enough times also solves the issue.

I first started noticing the issue a couple weeks ago. At the time I was running the latest version of Merlin 380.70 but since it has been abandoned, I have reverted back to stock 3.0.0.4.382.50470, resetting the nvram whilst reverting. The issue still exists.

asus ac5300 what is asusnat tunnel and what is its purpose

I recently bought an Asus ac5300. Under the tools section under advanced tweaks and options there's an option " Disable asusnat tunnel". Default it was switched on, but if I do not know what it does my first instinct is to have it switch off.

What is the asus nat tunnel, and what does it do? I tried searching the forum but could not find any details about it.
