Factory reset do to VPNFITER

I'm currently running the latest FW for my RT-AC1900P.

Based upon the VPNFILTER malware, it has been recommended by Cisco Talos to reinitialize router to the factory settings, and reinstall the latest FW and settings.

If I back the router setting (before resetting to the original factory FW), reset the router to factory FW, reinstall the latest FW, then restore the current saved router settings, will the router be back to where it was before doing all of this?

N66U QOS for wireless Source IP or MAC not working for me.

I have been having an odd issue with QOS. In order to get it to "work" I have to enter a very small download speed.

I want to use QOS on my ~150 Mbps down/10 Mbps up connection. Wireless frequency 5.0 Ghz. In order to see low pings while doing anything else, I have to enter my speed in QOS as about 10-20 down/10 up. User-defined priorities does have ack,syn,fin,rst, and icmp checked.

Does anyone use QOS for an interface and it works? Perhaps I am entering something wrong. My only QOS rule...

Hi all I'm new to the forum and would appreciate some help with configuring my RT AC66U (merlin v380.70) and Cisco 3560 POE24 (IOS v12.2.55-SE12) to work together in a multi vlan topology. Hello! I'm new, nice to meet you all.
Need some help please!
I have a new RT-AC86U (2 weeks) with a (small) problem.
Every few days, the router stops, i.e. I can't find the wifi network anymore, the router is turned off, the lights are out, not responding. I have to power off than on and it's ok for a few days and then shuts down... so on.
Merlin latest version right out of the box.
Typical settings, PPPoE, nothing special.
6-8 clients (wifi only).

Open VPN Client upload / download swapped AC68U

When using Open VPN Client on AC68U the upload and download are swapped over. This causes mostly confusion for statistics but can also create mysterious problems. I only discovered this when setting up the VPN and manually set the up/down bandwidth in 'Adaptive Qos / QoS / Bandwidth Setting'. I couldn't work out why the VPN download was throttling at 1Mbit when it should've been 16Mbit. The stars aligned when reverting to 'Automatic Setting' and full speed returned.

I am running an Asus RT-AC86U Extreme, with your latest firmware. I am running into what I think is a bug. I have a EXT4 connected 64 GB USB 3 drive connected to the router mounted at /mnt/sda1/. I have set my logs to be saved to a custom location: /mnt/sda1/logs/ and at first I had it set to a frequency of every 1 hour. Strange behavior on latest merlin

I have strange behavior with my ac88u. I have latest version of merlin installed with ab-solution, pixelsrv, dnscrypt and skynet. I've got a one client on my network that serve webserver on port 80 (192.168.0.10). Only for local purposes. Now when I try open chrome directly from other computer in the local network I got timeout on this address. But when I connect from mobile phone using mobile connection through open vpn I can open website without problems :) Any suggestion what is going on? :)

Hi, i'm new here, sorry in advance for my bad english.
First of all, thanks to all of you for the help you give me by reading guides and posts. That's a beautiful community.

Now, the problem:
I have one RT-AC86U as a main router and an old RT-AC68U as a repeater, both with the last Merlin firmware.
When i log into the router page and check the traffic analyzer, I see all the devices connected by cable at the RT-AC86U and the whole traffic coming from the RT-AC68U.

Asus rtac68u.

First, please help me identify that name of piece that came off, if not qma? Also, what is the piece on the board called?

As you can see, they came apart. I've tried snapping it back on, but it came loose again after reassembling the router. How can I reattach it properly without damaging or affecting it? Is there a conductive glue I can use?

Hello,

I have an AC3100 and something in it is conflicting with my AVR which is a NAD T758 v3. This AVR has a webui and needs to be able to be detected by software on a PC. I finally got it to work once after I disabled Samba but then stopped working again. I cannot ping the avr either.

Currently I have it setup as an assigned IP through DHCP. I have UPNP enabled as well as port trigger enabled. Any help would be appreciated as I need to be able to access this consistently to setup the DSP...

I would like to have more range than my current setup.

I have an n300 router where my cable modem is and wired a TP-Link Archer c7 on another level. On my patio I have mediocre to no signal from both. My thought replace the N300 with Archer C7 and buy a new router for the other level. Most of my use is on the other level and typically includes 2 iphones,2 ipads, 2 laptops, firstick, roku.

I want a reliable, set it and forget it system. I was thinking of the Asus RT-AC68U ($140). But then...

I apologise for signing up and immediately asking completely newb questions but I've been searching through the forum and the wiki on my own but I'm just completely lost.

I've just upgraded my router from a Netgear R7000 running DD-WRT to an ASUS RT-AC86U. Straight out of the box, I upgraded it to the latest ASUS firmware and then subsequently upgraded it to the 384.5 ASUSWRT-Merlin build before doing any configuration.

how do you change the upnp of an access point? RT-AU86U I have.

The option is in router/gateway mode in the WAN menu, but the WAN menu is not visible on other modes like access point and bridge mode.
