ZenWiFi BT10 Lan speed

I've got a couple ZenWiFi BT10, ethernet backhaul to the BE96u. It seems like the uplink is the correct 2.5g. I've tested that pipe by plugging the laptop in and making sure I'm able to pull 2.5 from the internet all the way across to the end device. However, when adding the BT10, I can't get the LAN10G port to go beyond 100mb. Speedtest shows I can download 350mb plugged in to that. Eliminate the BT10 and I get 2.5. Is there anything I can check on or is this possible a bad unit or...

AiMesh nodes - best practices / scripts / etc

I have a fairly feeble AiMesh setup, AC86u as the main router, and AC68u as an AiMesh node.

My main router is rebooted daily, but the node was just sitting there for weeks of uptime. Anyway, it would become somewhat flaky after a while - so then why not just reboot the AiMesh node nightly too and have it fresh in the morning?

Anyway, here is what I did. Ssh'ed into the AiMesh node, enabled jffs scripts:

RT-AX88U Pro Dropping WAN Connection

I recently updated the firmware on my Asus RT-AX88U Pro to 3004.388.8_2. The router was working fine prior to the update, but immediately afterward, the WAN connection became unstable. It drops every few minutes, sometimes for just a couple of seconds, other times as long a minute. The LAN connection is fine, but internet drops. I tried reverting to version 3004_388.7_0, but that did not fix the connection problem. I've confirmed that the router is the issue by connecting a computer...

FW Update Issue from 386.3_2 to latest on ASUS RT-AX88U

Hi,
I am on a very old version by Merlin on Asus RT-AX88U.
Current Version is : 386.3_2
Latest Version is : RT-AX88U_3004_388.8

I am trying to update to the latest one but it doesn't work.
I've also tried to update to stock and it also doesn't work.
Do you have any idea why and suggestions how to fix ?

Windows 11 version 24H2 and Samba protocol.

After updating to Windows 11 version 24H2, the ability to connect via the Samba protocol has disappeared. The changelog indicates protocol changes. What are the options to restore access? It is not advisable to use the Samba V1 protocol, as I understand?

For the last 2 years I've been on a 1gbps fiber internet. My apartment was already pre-wired with an ethernet outlet in each room, the ISP's router/modem sits in a little drawer in the hallway with its router part turned off, my GT-AX6000 in the middle room (nothing connected to it) and all TVs and PCs throughout the apartment connected directly to the ISP's router through the apartment's wiring. I have an EXTERNAL UBUNTU 24.02 VPN SERVER that is running Wireguard (along with Linux GRETAP) to create a Layer 2 bridge between two homes on both sides of the Atlantic ocean. The setup is almost identical in each house except on the USA side I have an RT-AC86U and on the Europe side I have an RT-AX86U Pro.

With Xfinity finally allowing customers on the X2 plan to use their own modems I decided giving the Netgear Nighthawk CM3000 a try. I didn’t see much posted on this modem from its owners so figured I’d give my experience in case someone is considering it.

Wireguard can't access devices behind asus router

I'm trying to setup "site to peer" wireguard VPN, but can't access asus router or anything behind it from the other side of the VPN.

Setup is described in the attached image.

WG settings on asus
Inbound Firewall = Allow
Enable nat = yes

no firewall blocking ping on 192.168.50.1 or 192.168.50.2
i did not manually add any routes to the asus router

maybe I need to set route on the side with server to route 192.168.50.0/24 to 192.168.110.162 - but i think autogenerated route table on server...

Trying to Figure Out Why Cable Modem Keeps Losing Connection

Spectrum is my internet provider. I use their modem, an ES2251 HW VER 1.3. My router is an Asus RT-AC88U running firmware version 3.0.0.4.386_48263

The modem only has two indicator lights on it one for power and one for online. For the past two weeks, every few days I lose my internet connection. The "online" light is lit blue indicating the modem is online, but I have no internet. I have to power cycle the modem to restore the connection.

RT-AX88U - 3004.388.8_2 - SSH connection closed after few minutes from reboot

I'm facing issue where dropbear will close the connection and refuse to accept any connection after that, until a reboot.
After a reboot, SSH works fine for a few minutes then close again with no system log alert.

Anyone has same issue?

ASUS GT-AXE16000 CPU usage with VPN on lan machine

Ok so I've been trying to narrow down what is going on here with slow VPN usage on local lan machines.

2.5gb fiber connection with full 10gb network throughout

First step.. speed test on the router itself..
Results: CPU usage low.. think like 5-8% utilization(totally fine) - Full line speed

Second step.. speed test on an AP that is connected via 10gb -> 10gb switch -> 10gb port on router
Results: Exact same as first step

3rd step.. speed test on lan machine 10gb -> 10gb switch -> 10gb...

Hoping someone else has seen this and give me some guidance.

Configuration:
Internet Provider: AT&T Fiber with HUMAX BGW320-500 in IP Passthrough mode (DHCPS-fixed)
Internal Router: ASUS XT12 in Wireless router mode / AiMesh Router mode, running Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.8_2, DHCP query frequency set to Aggressive mode

Issue:
Since upgrading my XT12 to 3004.388.8_2, periodically (sometimes weeks, maybe more) my XT12 WAN IP will become a 192.168.2.x address, which is a small 10 IP address...

I don't want to sound like I don't know what I'm talking about but it's the only conclusion I can draw.

I put my AT&T fiber gateway into IP Passthrough mode so I could use my own router behind it. This worked for a long time but as of late (maybe the last month and a half) we keep getting dropped pages whenever we try to load certain sites (and it's very inconsistent, it seems like whatever was most recently cached into DNS is able to stay there but anything that's even slightly stale...
