This was an issue for a long time starting last December (Version 3.0.0.4.384.45149 / 12/05/18), then the Asus firmware updated after the first of the year (Version 3.0.0.4.384.45713 / 04/18/19) and again (Version 3.0.0.4.384.45717 / 05/13/19) and the aiprotection signatures have updated too. The dcd tainted errors have been gone since the .45713 April 2019 firmware update and all the way up to the aiprotection signatures 2.130. I'm seeing the error again now with AIProtection...

SSID bug on firmware 384.12 on RT-AC3200
Hi,
I did search for this issue and couldn't find any reference but if there is already a thread, please direct me to it.
I have an RT-AC3200 running 384.12. I have 3 wireless networks for the three radios with distinct SSIDs. However, irrespective of which radio I choose in the Wireless settings page, it shows the same SSID as the 5GHz-2 radio. I thought it might be a display issue but if I switch radio, to say 2.4GHz, and then click apply at the bottom, the SSID will then be changed to...

Install Oh My Zsh on Asus routers
First thanks all the developers for the great work on asuswrt-merlin.
I come with something that might interest some of you. I like the possibility to use Oh My Zsh on my terminal but I noticed the installation process does not go well on Asus router (I have a RT-AC86U) because some commands are missing (like « command » and « chsh »).
So, after analysis, I forked the installation script with a tiny changement.

RMA - AC86
Just a heads up for those of you having issues and considering doing an RMA on your ASUS AC86.
When I contacted ASUS yesterday to return my AC86 which was giving me fits they did not have any units to exchange for mine and the best they could offer was they would try and repair mine and if it could not be fixed they would discuss other options.
This leads me to wonder if there might be underlying problems with the AC86 hardware given the number of posts on this forum about strange...

RT-AC86U - apparently need a start-up delay on power up
Have a RT-AC86U running 384.11 (will do 384.12 as soon as everything else is stabilized). With a Verizon DSL modem when we had one of the many power outages here in SW Florida that would eventually drain the UPS after power was restored everything would come back up without a problem. Upgrading from WRT1900AC. Suggestions to protect from lightning surges.
Hello everyone,
The router (WRT1900AC) in my parent's house recently stopped working because a nearby lightning strike ruined the WAN port. It worked flawlessly for the most part. Range in some places used to keep dropping. I believe its an AC Wave 1 router so it does not have as many bells and whistles as new MU-MIMO routers.
My requirements are as follows:
- Slightly better and stable range.
- Dual WAN.
- VPN Client/Server support.
- Upgrading to Mesh in the future.

Running Merlin firmware v384.10 on an ASUS RT-AC3200.
I have never had an issue with this before and I've been running this firmware for some time.
TL;DR: Can I manage port forwarding via the routers' ssh terminal?
I added a new computer to my network.
I installed plex media server and successfully updated port forwarding for Plex in the AC3200 Virtual Server/Port Forwarding Tab GUI (inside the WAN tab).

I have a problem with my NAS suddenly seems to drop off the local network, it typically happens when I copy files to the NAS (SMB, FTP) from a Win10 PC. To debug the issue, I made a Wireshark capture during the last connection issue. From the capture I see that the NAS keeps sending "Who has 192.168.87.1 ? Tell 192.168.87.120". Unable to add OpenVPN Client
Hi!
I've been trying to add OpenVPN clients to my RT AC68U router with Merlin 384.12. However, when I try to upload the .ovpn file, after 3/4 secondes the page refreshes, not even leaving me enough time to edit other properties. When I look up the log, it gives me this:
openvpn: Resetting client (unit 1) to default settings
I've already rebooted the router for it to format the jffs partition, but with no succes. What am I doing wrong?

Beem testing on two different providers (Nord, Express) and seem to be getting DNS leaks. It appears that I am connected to the correct server when checking my IP, and speedtests reflect that I am connecting to a server in that city. Yet the troubleshooting steps confirm that there is an issue with my connection. I have a couple of questions:

iPhone does not recognize 5GHz while Windows 10 does plus AiMesh bonus question
I have an ASUS AC-1900P bought at best buy and using in Japan.
Initially my iphone does find the 5Ghz band but after a while stops recognizing the 5GHz band until I do a factory reset; restore from a backup and it stops again recognizing the 5GHz band. I have no problem with any of my Windows 10 computers.
Any idea what is going on and what I can improve?
Bonus question: is AiMesh available on the AC-1900P running in Access Point mode?

DIY Cooling RT-AC86U, Is it safe? Increased lifespan?

I just put these two fans on the back of my AC86U router (left). The bigger one is 140mm and the smaller one is 120mm. These were spare fans from my PC laying around so I thought of utilising these in this way. Connecting the fans to USB ports make the fans run very slow so I bought a 12V AC to DC adapter from the market and connected the wires of both fans to that adapter.

Asus RT-AC88U Dual WAN - LAN port 5,6,7,8 selection
Hi,
Is there anyway to select LAN ports from 5-8 when doing Dual WAN?
My LAN ports 1-4 are fried and so is the WAN port.
Luckily, I was able to use the USB port, great feature, thank you.
But, I wonder if LAN ports from 5-8 are also available somehow as I couldn't see an option for it.
