Ax11000 Youtube Apps cannot detect TV

Hi i have ax11000 connected in aimesh network with 3 unit of ac68u.

Normally i can play youtube from my phone but now after setup aimesh i cant detect my tv from my youtube apps from my iphone

Can anyone please help

Ax11000 speed problem

Hi i have setup aimesh network with 3 unit of ac68u. I have a 20mb internet connected to the network but the speed that i get only 8mb.

To double check thqt the problem is not with my internet like i try to use other router the speedtest comes up 18-19mb

So can anyone help me with this? Is there setting that i need to set? Thanks

Port-Forwarding missing data (RT-AC68U-Merlin384.12)

Hi guys,

since the recent FWs my port fw list has been empty and no matter what I add, when I go back or refresh the page, the newly added entry is again missing.

If I do from ssh "nvram get vts_rulelist" it doesn't show anything.

Question on 5ghz channels

All things being equal (no interference on any of the channels), if I have 2 Access Points (Unifi) I know that both should be on a different 5ghz channel. My question is, should 1 be on the Channels 36, 40, 44, and 48 range and 1 be on the 149, 153, 157, 161, and 165 range? Or does it not matter.

Does it make a difference if I run VHT160, VHT80, or VHT40? I guess the goal is for channels NOT to overlap so i can go between AP's with devices easily.

Hidding folder in Samba

Hello, my router is ac68u ,it is attached with a HDD with 2 partitions: one in ex4 format for entware and one in NTFS. I have been trying to hide the entware folder locating in the ex4 partition and make it invisible from all the user when using Samba. I have set the permission for the entware folder to "NO" , while no one can access it , it is still visible. Could anyone help, please? Thanks!

ASUS Access Point w/ Netgear Router

I have a Aimesh set up right now with 3 Asus Lyra AC2200 (one mode acts as router) but I plan to buy the NETGEAR R7960P from Costco and use that as the router then set my Lyra nodes to AP mode. I’m hoping the roaming will “just work” as it did before but would like to understand if there are limitations to using the NETGEAR router and ASUS Lyra as APs. Anyone have experience with using Asus routers in AP mode for other manufacturers router?

Hello

Im setting up a openvpn server on a remote asus router (AC56R).

Router ip is 192.168.1.1
Router openvpn server ip is 10.0.3.1

openvpn is working ok. i can remotely connect from another asus router (client #2) . ip address that i get is 10.0.3.2

i have these 2 lines on the openvpn server custom configuration
Code:
push "route 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0"
push "route 10.0.3.0 255.255.255.0"
i need to be able to access from my windows client to the routers web gui....

PureVPN issues on Asus RT-AC86U - Merlin

Hello,

After a long time, I have recently updated my merlin software on my 86U. After upgrading, OpenVpn does not connect anymore. I keep getting an error that says TLS hand shake failed. PureVpn support staff do not have answers to Merlin firmware.

I am not a technical person at all. I would appreciate it if someone could post or direct me to an article where I know what to input in all the fields in my router.

Not sure if this is the right place to post this. I have an ASUS AC86U and with AES-NI it kicks OpenVPN butt. However, I am unsure of how likely it is for ASUS to keep supporting it and upgrading the OpenVPN protocol on this thing. I've been looking into PiVPN and the Raspberry Pi 4 lately and I understand that the upcoming OpenVPN 3 protocol has support for multithreading. Here are my questions

I've been a fan of ASUS routers for quite some time. My first one was a N66U. I loved the interface and how I could put different firmwares on it. I was a big fan of Tomato for a couple years.
I have bought every newer, bigger faster ASUS routers since then and currently have the AX88U. But as internet speeds keep getting faster and more and more devices around the house need internet, the more complicated things get.
I have been struggling for the past 2 years to have reliable routers...

I've been flirting with going all in with Ubiquiti Unifi products for a couple of years and I may be read to pull the trigger. Where I'm stuck is deciding between EdgeRouter or USG. I understand the key difference which is that EdgeRouter is a standalone router (sounds good to me) while USG is managed by the CloudKey which is also fine as I will have one managing the APs and cameras (eventually.).

Hi,
I am running 384.12 on RT-AC87U with an openvpn client set-up to protect one of my NAS device.
The issue I am now having since 384.12 (was working OK in 384.11) is the following:
when I try to reach my NAS with its DDNS name from within the LAN, I am now getting a timeout.
Can you please confirm if it is the intented behavior ?

and before someone asks why would I want to access this system via DDNS when connected locally, the answer is quite simple: On my smartphone, most of time used...

Quad-core vs dual-core

I know which is better in a PC, but does the same apply in a router? Does it really make that much difference going with a quad-core vs. a dual-core CPU in a router?

Example: would it be better going with quad-core router where each core is 700mhz vs. going with a dual-core router where each core is 1.6ghz?

Can someone enlighten me on when it would even matter?
