Hi
I have an ASUS RT-N66U router with the latest Merlin firmware. The router streams HD and 4K HDR video from YouTube no buffering to a Sony Android TV via a Tplink powerline 100MB device.
I have a Western digital NAS Box 8TB connected via wired LAN across the TPlink and also a USB 3.0 HDD into the router. On the Sony TV I use VLC to play media from either devices. I'm in the process of re-designing the network in our office. It's a somewhat unique setup in that is resides in a residence. We've had problems where I've been told "the network is acting up" Symptoms includes inability to stream music/video (tidal/napster/netflix), wifi stops working and number of other "it doesn't work" complaints.

The entire house 10k sq ft is cabled to a single location. I had put in a 24 port gig swtich (vlan capable) and a 24 port 100 mb switch that I had from...

I have a unit of Asus rt-ac87u with AP Mode and would like to setup for LAN wifi and Guest Wifi.

firewall with ( vlan tag 30 for guest ) ---- Switch ---- Asus rt-ac87u ap mode with LAN wifi and Guest wifi

do some have any script to enable this setup?

A Guide About Installing ZeroTier on ASUS AC68U Router

**Based on Merlin 380.68_4 Firmware, but should be working on any router that supports Entware.**

1. Entware installation.
`$ entware-setup.sh`

2. Then install ZeroTier using Entware:
`$ opkg update`
`$ opkg install zerotier`

3. Start TUN
You might get this error in step 4 `Cannot open TUN/TAP dev /dev/net/tun: No such file or directory (errno=2)`, then run this at first.
`$ modprobe tun`

4. Start zerotier service
`$ zerotier-one -d`

5. Check service status, should be 200

RT-AC3100 - Cannot enable Flow Acceleration

I'm running the current stock ROM (3.0.0.4_382_18891) with all the bells and whistles disabled (no Ai stuff, no QOS, no guest network), NAT is enabled, and NAT acceleration is set to Auto. However, all that I get is CTF. I do have an RT-AC68U set up to run in AP mode off the AC3100. Could that be the cause of not having FA?

2,4 Ghz band module crashes on rt-n66

Hello.
I have 3 RT-N66U routers.
All they are running on different Merlin FW versions.
In random time 2.4 module break up my connection and after that not visible for 2.4Ghz wi-fi modules.
But if module supports dual band, 5Ghz still visible for connect.
Only reboot helpful for solve this bug.


No, i can't jump to 5Ghz range only.
I have a lot of old hardware, like Smart TV, PSP and anothers.
Hardware reset dosen't help to me at all routers.
So issue somewhere in FW.
Maybe i should raise up...

I have looked around and my router is not supposrted currently on tomato , ddwrt or openwrt unfortunately. I have a asus RT-N12E is it possible to compile merlin for this model ?

I recently upgraded from an ASUS RT-AC66U to a RT-AC88U, planning to use the 66U as a repeater. While I occasionally had difficulty connecting to an HP8620 all-in-one printer with the 66U, now with the 88U I rarely stay connected to the HP8620 and often can't print to my Brother MFC7860DW all-in-one. I gave up on the Asus RT-AC88U / HP 8620 combo after an intense week of trying and connected the HP8620 via USB so my wife could have a reliable printer with her computer.

I was using an RT-AC66U for years when it died a quiet and peaceful death. I was able to access the GUI from the internet both on my phone and my work computer using the latest Merlin firmware. I replaced my deceased friend with an RT-AC68U and updated to the most recent Merlin 380.68_4. My enable web access from WAN is on and I am using the same DDNS host name. When using the iplookup.asus.com service, it identifies my user name and the IP address of my system.

This is a maintenance release for the legacy 380 branch. This branch will only provide minimal bugfixes from now on, as active development has been moved to the 382 branch. I want a router that will link aggregate two USB connected smartphones acting as WAN/modems. Devices, firmware, ISP are identical. Not just load balancing. Must be IPV4 capable as tethered connections don't support IPV6, to my knowledge.

Very few commercial grade routers support USB tether, most don't have a single USB port even if they support link aggregation and/or load balancing.

Wifi problems with iPhone X when connected to 5 Ghz band

I’m having issues with my iPhone X when connected to the 5 Ghz band on a ASUS RT-AC3200 (latest RMerlin FW). The wifi disconnects or dropping and this only happens to my iPhone X. I have 5 other iDevices at home without any problems.

I’ve reported this to Apple but just thought if anyone had some tricks to solve it. I have done all troubleshooting on the iPhone but no better results.

Hello,
im using Merlin 380.68_4 on RT-N66U and I noticed two problems with VPN. Need some advice or help. Im using OpenVPN client with "Redirect Internet traffic Policy Rules (strict)" and "Block routed clients if tunnel goes down" in rules I have clients added with Iface VPN, and it works fine clients connect with VPN... but when I restart router:
1. OpenVPN don't reconnect auto (is there any way to make him do it auto?) there is set connection retry to 5 seconds, but it look like it apply...

media bridge not working? (on both AC68U/EA6900)

Greetings,

I have problems setting on media bridge on my (converted Asus router) merlin routers. I have set up wireless bridge on tomato routers and they work great. However, as merlin interface is somewhat limited, I have no idea how to navigate to resolve this problem. I seek your help.

First of, I have 2 routers running on merlin firmware:

t-mobile AC1900 converted to Asus AC68U, running on Asuswrt-Merlin RT-AC68U_380.68_4.trx
Linksys EA6900, running xvortex/merlin EA6900_380.68_4.trx...
