Tunnel through tunnel

Is there any way to setup Asuswrt-Merlin firmware to have 2 VPN tunnels enabled with a tunnel through tunnel configuration?
Right now I am connecting using OpenVPN on the router to one provider for my entire LAN network and then use another OpenVPN instance on the PC to connect to another VPN provider.

Yesterday, I did some tests with the '' Locate Me '' feature in Windows 10 Home edition.

First, here is the way my devices are plugged in together and also some details about their settings:

2x2 tri-band router vs 4x4 dual-band router

I'm trying to decide between buying a tri-band router (Linksys EA8300, with two 867mbps 5ghz bands and one 400mbps 2.4ghz band) and a dual band router with 4x4 antenna (TP-Link C2600, one 1733mbps 5ghz band and one 800mbps 2.4ghz band).

I don't really understand what the advantage of 4x4 in the TP-Link C2600 is- aren't most devices 1x1 or 2x2? So how would they be able to take advantage of 4x4 antennas? Wouldn't they be limited to 1x1 or 2x2 speeds? In that case, wouldn't it be better to...

Summary: Experiencing problems with Wi-Fi surveillance cameras choked by FTP Share when recording videos to USB HDD on RT-AC68R.

Problem Installing Pixelserv-tls through AB Solution

I'm having some trouble installing Pixelserv-tls through the menu in AB Solution. I have Entware installed. My DHCP server assigns addresses from 100 to 199 and my NAS is on 250. I tried with the 240 address and get the same error. Has anyone else experienced this? Any solutions?

XboxOne to Xbox360 system link, Asus 68r

This'll be lengthy. Not sure if this issue is because of my router (Asus 68r). So here's the set up, system linking an Xbox One to an Xbox360.

List of games tested:

Halo Wars
Halo Reach
Left4Dead2
Operation Flashpoint (forgot which one)

So at first we had both consoles connected by wifi, Xbox One 5ghz Xbox 360 2.4ghz. Consoles could see each other, but not join.

Next we tried both wired to the router. Same result. But one additional issue came up, the Xbox One would drop connection to...

Deauth other AP's on same channel

Is it possible to somehow set up our routers to run a script which will send deauth packets to other AP's which hop on the same channel? I have 2 neighbors who's routers are most likely on auto channel, and every so often they hop to my routers channel. I normally just use my laptop and deauth it for 30 minutes and it will hop back to an unused channel. Would be nice to just automate this.

Hello,

I currently have an Asus rt-n66u, I've had it for a few years and it's always been good but ever since I moved / bought a condo the coverage has been lackluster.

The router is in one of the bedrooms and whenever I'm in the living room I get from 1-2 bars of signal on my smart tv / wireless devices. That and every now and then the wifi just dies (wifi remains connected but no internet access while wired internet works fine). I suspect it's a mix of walls killing the signal and / or...

Howdy all!

I have all the parts ready to go (I hope!), and I'd like to build something like this:

An always-on NAS for my home network that is also a PC.

Most of its duty will be serving media and storing my files (8x4TB drives with Xeon CPU), but I also want to use it as the actual head unit going to my projector/amp, and would like to also be able to use it as a PC on the big-screen if needed.

Does anyone have any suggestions on the best setup for this? I've read that I could install...

I have two AC1900 (basically RT -AC68U) routers one of which I had set up as an access point, which is connected by Ethernet to the other router, with the same SSIDs and Passwords as the one I use as a router to make kind of a mesh setup in my home.

I got the email from Asus that AIMesh was available for my routers and read their claims that it would improve my coverage and speeds. So like a dope I uploaded the asuswrt and tried to set it up but when I did I couldn't access the AIMeshed...

Help, I was tempted by AIMesh and uploaded asuswrt now I'm screwed

RT-AC88U with Merlin 382.1_2 Time Zone error

Hi,
My router still says time zone error, but the setting is the correct one, GMT+1, i am in France, but it shows an error and its 1 hour in advance.
What should i do to correct this error ?

Hello Guys!

I'm working on an RT-N66U for a while and try to join to a wireless network which has encryption but could not succeed.
If I try to join to an open wifi network it works after the following commands:

At this point I'll get an IP address but it will not be assigned to the interface. So I have to assign it manually with the following command:

After trying Tomato on my RT-AC86U so I could try out the native VyperVPN client which seemed like it would be both powerful and fast, being that I could use Chameleon natively, I was soundly disappointed at how miserably that VPN client performed. Hi,
New question for me...
May be i have difficulties to understand well but this morning my routeur was flashing saying a new firmware version was available. So i donwloaded it, applied and restarted. Ok.
But now it is still flashing saying a new version is available.

Questions :
- why is it still flashing ?
- how can we read the version numbers :
We have signature version : 2.44
Then Firmware version : 382.1
On download site the last one is 382.1_2
The date of this version is 2017-12-02...

Could you help me please, what is the function of the interface eth0 on AC68U, when I have a pppoe connection?
I thought that...
eth0 is only the physical interface for pppoed, with no other function
eth1 is physical representation of the switch
eth2 is the wireless adapter (or eth1 is the wifi adapter, and eth2 is the switch, doesn't matter)

But... running 'tcpdump -i eth0 no pppoed and no pppoes' shows dhcp traffic on eth0 interface and some syslog messages which are sent to my syslog...

Hello! So I had to have my AC5300 replaced by Asus and I finished setting up my replacement with Asuswrt-Merlin. I backed up the Cstats and Rstats file from the time period I owned it, however I also found backups of other files of bandwidth usage from when I ran Tomato on my other routers throughout the years. I renamed one of the old tar.gz files to the Mac address of my new router and to my surprise it imported the bandwidth data from 2010-2014 (up until that router died) and I didn't run...

Hello Lads, great forum. Have read everything on here in helping me to buy the right equipment and setup properly. Very helpful.

I just moved from an old 1960's house with unfinished basement, the wifi signal there was incredible. Also ran my own Cat6 as there were many unfinished walls. this was ideal...
Now I am in a 5 year old home and the build is much more finished/insulated. Surprisingly giving me about half the signal quality. Not to mention they installed cat3 in the walls!!! wtf is...

Just bought myself what I consider my first premium router, went with this particular one to provide good vpn performance and the added configuration option that Merlin provides.

Wasn't sure if I should be posting this in the Asus Router or Merlin sub forums, but here goes...

When I enable my VPN Client (NordVPN, configured using their instructions and the ovpn file), my wired clients connect, but not my wireless. I see errors relating to dns unable to resolve. Have I missed something?...

iVMS-4200 storage server can not see HDD

First let me say that I can manually record to my HDD with the iVMS-4200 client software both still pictures as well as video, but when I try to set things up for auto record during motion detect it won't record even though it does indicate it detects motion.
