XT8 Packet Loss Wired Mesh - Using as Access Points Only

Hi - so I had this odd occurrence after a very stable network with the XT8 for the last year. Firmware changes are manual and no updates for about 3 months.

My setup:

Fiber ONT --> Edgerouter 4 --> 2.5gb switch --> hardwired backplane Qty 4 XT8 in access point mode + some other switches and devices off the same switch

What happened:
Noticed lagging with YouTube tv, zoom calls, lost connections, etc.

Debugging:
1. Ping router LAN port from a laptop hard wire, I'm setting lost packets...

I’ve been looking for a new router to replace my 8 year old work horse; Asus AC68U. Originally it was labeled as a T-Mobile Cellular Hot Spot and so immediately converted it in to a fool fledge AC68U. It’s been a great little guy but it was time go.
A week ago I ran in to Slate AX and after a bit of research and the price was incredible for such a small tank, on sale for $92, I bought it.

Spotty AX82U V1 Wifi 5Ghz performance

So I've been using the Ax82U v1 for the past 3 years, it has been good until I've been messing with some features. I believe the most notable one is the OpenVPN server from what I've read on other posts. Also its running an AiMesh setup, wired backhaul for that great node stability. The 5G band has been having somewhat of some stability issues, where the upload link speed drops to 6mbps, while download might be at 150mbps, but that makes Instagram to take way too long to load or Youtube to...

Asus BQ16 Little help required.

Hi there,

Looking for a little help on this newly purchased BQ16, I don't currently have any WiFi 7 client devices as yet however I do have an S23 Ultra which has 6E support.

Is there any purpose to enabling MLO as yet and combining all bands as when I have tried it I am not having any issues other than when going slightly further a field the router keeps switching my phone to the 2.4ghz band where my internet access is much slower and I never had any issues with decent signal and good...

Asus gt-be98 firmware downgrade

Has anyone had any success with downgrading firmware on the Asus gt-be98. I am at my wits end. I installed the new firmware and MLO worked fairly okay but but now I’m getting 700-900 download - 1700 upload. I’m not sure what the new firmware has meant to of fixed but it’s just made it worse.

So has anyone been able to downgrade to previous firmware?

Does anyone know how to configure the secondary WAN port to access the Zyxel modem GUI?
(The problem is that the Zyxel modem only has a single LAN port).

I was able to find this information to access the GUI by making these settings:
community.zyxel.com

Accessing management on VMG4005-B50A/B60A on local network while the VMG4005 is in bridge mode

Hi, How does one access the management of the modem in local network without hooking into the modems lan directly?

I was at a local computer store today and I bought it to try it. Its a nice little router but the firmware is a complete freaking mess. After messing around with the router for half an hour, I put it back in the box and its going back to the store.

Latest firmware came out less than two weeks ago and it has a whole lot of bugs!! I flashed the router with firmware twice, reset the router twice and threw in the towel. I spent most of the time trying to get the 5Ghz band setup. Settings that...

I'm using AX86U and upgrade to latest 3004.388.8_2 firmware.
device always crash and all the wireless client disconnect.

I have add a usb fan in the back of this AX86U, so the hardware temperature should not any problem:

Hello,
First off I would like to say hello new to this forum but have done a lot of research on this forum for answers and more. Thanks

So here we go, I have a RT-AX86u running as my primary router, I have 2 RT-AC68U's running as wired access points off the primary router the AX86u.
The other day I could not log into the primary router the AX86U. So I had to do a hard reset.
Once I did the hard reset my wifi light never came back on but on the router homepage showed it running as normal...

Are the new RT-BE96U / GT-BE98_PRO really worth it over my current Asus RT-AX88U?

So, had my Asus RT-AX88U since 2019, no problems with it as far as I know. But what would I gain from going over to the super expensive RT-BE96U / GT-BE98_PRO models (outside of supporting newer wifi standards)?

The new models seem to hit absurd prices, and I am not sure why. So I kinda have a hard time justifying getting one of them if there isnt a major reason to upgrade.

Any advice from you guys?..

Hey y'all, I'm new to this forum and like many, I come here with a problem I cannot solve myself. Up until this morning, my RT-AX86U has been happily trucking along without issue for the past 3.5 years without any problems whatsoever. This morning, however, I woke up to:
- No wifi network visible on any of my devices
- No connection via the Ethernet ports

my be 98 is set as access point.
My radio 6 Ghz is set off
I have no clients that support the 6Ghz band.
Can anyone explain this to me?

Asuswrt-Merlin 3006.102.2 is now available for Wifi 7 devices. This release adds support for the RT-BE86U and RT-BE88U, changes the behaviour of the VPN killswitch, and fixes a number of issues present in 3006.102.1.

Tailscale subnet error

I have an Asus router and a RPi with TailScale and AdguardHome. I have DNS set to my Adguard instance to block ads. I installed Tailscale on RPi and setup as shown in tutorials all works apart from when I try to add my router as a subnet using sudo tailscale up --advertise-routes=192.168.0.0/24 it comes back with the below message-
