Internal antenna router

Hey,

I'm looking for a single unit router for a 2 floor house each floor of 150 sq.m (1600 sq ft)
The router will be line of sight, so external antennas does not fit in.

I've been looking at the Asus XD6 or D-Link M30 AQUILA PRO but I find it hard to compare to other routers as most reviews and forum posts recommend routers with external antennas.

Do you have any recommendations for an internal antenna router for a 1 gbps connection.

Large house Mesh system

We have a fairly large house (~5,000 sf) with drywall and wood stud walls. 2 Story plus basement. We presently have a surfboard modem (I'm guessing the 686Mbps variety) and an 800 Mbps ISP plan.

We were using a TP-Link Deco system with 3 nodes that tested to about 320Mbps close and 220Mbps far, vs a newer Asus ZenWifi XT9 with 2 nodes. (I thought it was interesting that both main and satellite nodes rated in the 800s close by, but the main node tested to 350 or so at 30 ft, while the...

I just want to say the RT-AX56U is a pile of crap...

As an AiMesh node in my network this thing barely functions. Devices trying to connect to it get horribly hobbled connections and/or no valid connection period and the wired devices on it are either also randomly crippled or the thing seems to crap out trying to send large amounts of data across it (the connection drops and presumably it reboots).

What does this mean? kernel: ERROR: rdd dhd helper: release of not allocated SKB:
This happens once a day or so.
Other devices on the network are visible, but the router GUI does not respond, nor does ssh.
I restart the router and the system log shows about 1 minute of the same line every second until the May 4th router startup starts dumping into the system log.

but i cant find what tool chain arguments to use or the folder to compile from

Asus RT-AX88U Stuck on Merlin Firmware 388.1

Hi All,

First of all, many thanks for this great forum, been reading it for years, but never needed to actually ask a question.

I have an ASUS RT-AX88U (not the Pro). Been running fine and continues to do so, but I have been unable to move past Merlin 388.1. I have multiple Garmin Watches and the issue is that none of them are able to connect to the Wireless after 388.1, and yes, I have tried all the firmware builds as they come out in the hope that whatever changed becomes obvious, but...

Grateful for any advice.

I used an Asus RT-N66U for many more or less trouble-free years with John's firmware. But times move on - I have FTTP from a new ISP and it came with a shiny new router. But I suspect the shininess is skin-deep only: I'm now getting some regular dropouts when using Zoom and gaming even over my wired connection and I blame the router - seems more likely to be that than the fibre. Maybe it's time to buy a proper replacement.

Yesterday I upgraded from 32882 to 34491 everything worked great except for my Arlo Video Doorbell. I have 21 wifi devices with most of it being IoT. I did everything I could with Arlo to get the bell from talking with the router but it never worked. can configuration information of the same firmware version be exported/imported to each other?

For example, I exported the 3004.388.7 configuration information in RT-AX58U and imported it directly into GT-AX6000 (of course the firmware of GT-AX6000 is also 3004.388.7).
Is it possible to import the configuration directly like this? On the contrary, can I export the configuration of GT-AX6000 and import it into RT-AX58U? Is there any harm?
Of course, the prerequisite for this operation is that the firmware version numbers of the two machines are the same.

Hello everyone!
Have one issue after update network adapter on NAS with my config.

1. GT-AX6000 \ Merlin 3004.388.7
2. NAS with tp-link tx201 ( rlt 8125) 2.5G
3. PC with 2.5G lan / AX210 WiFi

If I connect NAS directly to PC by cable - negotiation speed 2500, fd, download speed from PC to NAS \ NAS to PC - like +/- 270MB\s, stable.
If I connect NAS to GT on 2.5G port (LAN 5) (negotiation speed - 2500, fd), PC connect by WiFi with link speed 2401 - download speed capped at 100MB\s, 1 core...

Red Light Indicator XT9

It happned 2x already. While holding the XT9 at an angle, I see red light. Cable to WAN port is connected. I wiggle the LAN cable and the power cable at is connection point to the router and no such red light. What causes this?

Looking for some general info. I have a xt8 paired with another xt8 in aimesh and a plug in aimesh dual band node. This setup works just fine for me, with the typical issues of band steering etc.

I recommended my friend who was having all kinds of issues with his network to the xt12. Hes got a decent number more nodes, and about 200 devices that connect vs my like 80-100. After some tweaking to get sonos workings everythign was fine. Then all of a sudden a few months later the speed...

Hi! My RT-AC3100 started to fail. Talking with some people, the issue may be a failure in an internal power provider with voltage issues. Always the issue appears when I had connected my 1 or 2 HDD, One of them is the 1 TB used with Entware.

multiple wired ports down

today something strange happened.

all of a sudden my wired port on my pc stopped working like ity was disconnected.
i checked other wired ports on my router and they seem to be down as well(lights on ports were out)
router was up and runnning and wan connection was still working as well as wifi,

this is what showed up in the log.
at that time nothing was happening on my pc and it was not shutdown
anybody any ideas

IPv6 Traceroute broken in 388.6 ?

I've been chasing down an IPv6 issue with my provider. At this point they've fixed their routing, and all traffic over IPv6 appears to be working... except IPv6 traceroute
