Sorry to not have been active on the forums over the last couple of months - I still do step in from time to time on items that interest me, but for general topics, I've backed away, mostly out of time needed. i have problem updating latest firmware Version 3.0.0.4.384.6287. Currently i have 6204 installed. i checked for new firmware and node has been updated successfully but the router itself still shows 6204, i tried manual update but it tells me that "Firmware upgrade unsuccessful. This may result fro, incorrect image or error transmission. Please check this version of firmware and try again."

I tried many times but after reboot still the same firmware 6204 (the system works fine after...

GT-AX11000 - issue with play-fi speakers / harmony / hue

Hi, just got a rapture AX11000 . Work mostly well with the exception on the connection to playfi speakers / harmony / hue. After a few minutes the router is on, i can’t see *any of them on their mobile apps which render them useless... resetting the router would make them visible again ... but they just continue *disappearing after some time. I can ser all devices remain connected on the router, it just ceases to be visible to my phone or other devices i could use to control them. Tried all...

CPU temp higher all of a sudden.

The past few days the CPU temp is sitting ~80*C for no reason. The CPU load reports to be less than 10%, the only thing I can think of is that maybe the crappy TIM they used has dried up and now the SOC is just sitting there cooking. The other question I have is do these SOCs support cpufreq or some similar dynamic clocking module because that could be another thing that's gotten stuck somehow. I'm running the latest version of merlin(because I thought it could be an issue with my older...

I'm looking at buying a couple of new Asus AX routers. I was thinking on spending the extra money for the ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 but I see an awful lot of issues with bugs and firmware releases. I'm leaning towards the RT-AX88U. I would really appreciate any feedback on this. I'm looking for better throughput, better range and coverage but also a solid, stable network. The mesh part is important as well.

Also, if not one of these, are there any other brands you might recommend?

Hi everyone, my first post so a little nervous.

I'm after some advice on the way I've set up my home network.

A little background...

My current setup is a basic AC87U running Merlin, I use DDNS & VPN into my network when away.

The only port I every have open is 34200 for plex for remote access for friends, everything else
I access via the AC87U VPN server.

My home network consists of the usual stuff Xbox's, smartphones, wireless speakers etc. I run an unraid server, have the basic...

Airplay to isolated Guest WiFi network possible?

Hello,

I have an Apple TV on one of my guest wireless networks and would like to allow iOS devices that reside on my main LAN to Airplay to to the Apple TV. I have the guest networks isolated (no intranet access) and primarily use them for IOT devices.

Can I use port forwarding, custom routing tables or firewall whitelists to allow bridging between iPhone, iPad and ATV?

BTW, I am using the RT AC86U for the main router with the latest Merlin firmware. Also running YazFi WiFi and Skynet...

I am also a newbie here at this forum. My question is that when I review my logs every now and then is that I only see the last six or eight hours worth. I am running Voxel's latest firmware. Is there a setting that keeps the log files several days or do I have to tell my router to email me the logs?

Memory leak issue

I've had this issue with several different models over the years and it still occurs today all running merlin. It seems mostly related to the DPI inpsection/Statstics being enabled.

After 15-25 days the ram will fill up to the point where nothing is stable and the GUI is no longer accessable.

Currently happening on latest merlin and on my AC86U also occured last with my 66U-B1

No QoS or anything, just most default, wifi disabled, statstics turned on. Its all I want, but its not stable.

Hi,

First, I am running several ac68's with VLAN trunking on the LAN side to separate SSIDs to bridge groups with the VLANS... but Ive been doing that with another build (although I am getting ready to test with Merlin).

I've been interested in setting a 68 up to connect as a client to Multiple WLANs.
As is that wasn't enough of a question.... all the WLANS use the same /24 address range.

Did my NICs get banned? How to investigate/solve?

So I switched from Google Drive to OneDrive and was re-uploading some files. About 400Gb through the upload to onedrive it stopped working. Both onedrive client and web-based can only upload the first few kb of a file and get stuck.

I started investigating and found the weirdest thing ever. Basically, EVERY computer on my network with the same Asus-Aquantia-based NICs cannot do some Internet uploads now (internal traffic is fine). Specifically, OneDrive uploads and Speedtest.net upload test...

Did my NICs get banned? How to investigate/solve?

AC1900P HELP can not figure out how to Network USB drive

Ok, I'm decent at computers, but Networking has always phased me.

Reformated 4TB drive to ext 4 connected to USB 3 Router sees it. Not meaning to but it is now a media server, but I still cant see the drive in windows. I did the SBVT1 thing in windows 10 so that should not be it. But from all the options this router gives I can not figure out how to set it up so the drive is seen within the network. No desire to access from the web.

Hopefully someone can help an Idiot out. spent 2...

Problem loading Merlin on RT86U

I am having a problem loading Merlin on my RT 86u.
the stock version does not allow me to select the merlin software on my PC , it only has the firmware check update button that goes to the ASUS server

Below it has the manual upload for AIMESH routers and when I try that I get current version installed and will not move the Merlin file over .

Any help would be appreciated , I'm working with ASUS support but to no avail.

This is a bit of a long and complicated problem, and it is in two parts... so please bear with me.

I have the following equipment.
A Plusnet one hub (I can't find any more details of the specs of this device anywhere! some information here...)
A Netgear D6200 adsl modem/router
A Netgear EX6150 AC1200 wifi range extender

I have just got fibre broadband (fttc)...
