Asus AC88U wrong WAN IP

Have installed the latest ver. 384.11_2 on an AC88U. The web interface is reporting wrong Wan IP address. My AC66U shows the correct IP address (see pics). If I reboot the router it comes up with a new address that is also wrong. The first 4 numbers are correct, at least most of the time.

I've found messages from "Mastiff" process and about AAE Service in my router's log.
For example:

Took the lid off my AX88U and it was pretty easy. Thank you ASUS!

I have concerns about the durability of the WAN port being too loosely soldered to the motherboard. I think in the end my concern is justified. It looks like they didn't fill the PCB through holes with solder, like they typically do and it makes the port a little less stable.

tc syntax for dropping packet (ingress/egress filtering)

According to this https://blog.cloudflare.com/how-to-drop-10-million-packets/ dropping ingress packets with tc should be easy peasy, but I just can't figure out the proper syntax for Asus (AC-66 2.6.22.19 #1 Mon Sep 12 19:17:46 MST 2016 mips GNU/Linux) version of tc.

As a test I'm trying to drop packets with tcp rst bit set, but nothing much happens even with police drop syntax, should the ingress qdisc be rather attached to vlan1 ? But no success with either.

I currently have a TP-Link Archer C9 v1 which has done well for the past 4 years but has died.

My budget is $200 +/-. I was looking at the Netgear X4S(R7800), TP-Link C5400, or Asus AC86U. I really want something that will last reliably for 4-5 years and I wont have to reboot every 1-2 weeks. I am nervous about any Asus routers since all the reviews talk about 2.4 crapping out after a year. I am open to other suggestions.

Hello,

I have an asymmetric gigabit connection of 940 mbps/ 35 mbsp, and my dslreports bufferbloat test gave me a score of D. What router can I get that can handle my gigabit download speeds and fq_codel to fix the bufferbloat? I'm open to buidling my own pfsense machine and also exploring out of the box options.

Best config options for 384.11_2 for dns using vpn

okay so am bit confused with the new options for dns privacy. I am currently running 384.11_2 on RT-AC68U with additional Amtm & YazFi script. I have vpn clients enabled through nordvpn that provides it's own dns servers. I would also like to add the adblocker server & ntp server script options to the mix at some point in the future as well. ( for now going with the simplest that doesn't require entware installed & additional usb drive attached to router)

Netgear GS724Tv3 - odd behaviour

I have a strange situation with my managed Netgear GS724Tv3 switch and/or Mikrotik RB3011 router. Everything seems to be running flawless and then at some point in time, i cannot access the switch anymore. At the same time, i can see in my DHCP server list that the switch did not get a new IP lease. Oddly enough, everything seems to keep on running fine so all network and internet connections just continue. I just cannot access the switch anymore and the switch cannot access the web anymore...

Hello - long time lurker and user of Asuswrt-Merlin!

Need a little help with getting the OpenVPN Server to behave as expected. Kinda new to using it. I have gone through some how-tos with setting up /starting OpenVPN server on the AC68U. This one as an example.

Is there any documentation for the CLI? I just finished resolving a problem with accessing the web based interface but would prefer the CLI, bash, its scriptability and flexibility. Is there any resource associated with Merlin ASUSwrt for this? Thanks in advance!

I'm pulling my hear out with this one. Hope someone can point me in the right direction. Luckily, I isolated the issue really well (had to bring equipment physically into the same room and connect to the same router).

Components in question - 2 different Asus 10 Gbe NICs (same model) and 2 different Netgear GS110EMX switches and 3 Win 10 PCs. The problem is the same regardless of what specific hardware is used, so it's probably not faulty devices (moving around switches and NICs changes...

1. Primary Router must be Merlin latest release. Download from the website. After flashing,
Enable SSH in administration>system.
Enable WAN+LAN option.
Enable Allow password login,
Enable Allow SSH password brute force protection.
Save

2. All Nodes (repeaters/AiMesh Nodes) must be stock ASUS firmware.

3. Connect Ethernet from laptop/pc to primary router.
Download PuTTy to SSH into router.
IP = router.asus.com
Port = 22.

ORBI RBK23 Topology Changing and Satellites Dropping

So I have had the RBK23 for a few months now but just opened the box as we moved into our new house. I have had so many issues since installing it's driving me crazy.

The house is wired for Cat 6 in most locations all feeding to a closet on the 2nd floor. The house is about 3600sqft but WiFi is really needed mostly in central locations.

PPPOE dropping and not reconnecting

Ever since i upgraded to the 384.11 build i'm facing issues with PPPOE connection dropping . I started using PPPOE since that version , before i used a double NAT setup .
Updated recently to 384.11_2 , but issues persist .

The issue is that PPPOE (WAN) gets disconnected , but never reconnects . This happens at least every day on random times .
I need to go in the admin page to WAN settings , press on apply (without changing any settings) , and only then my PPPOE and WAN come back online ....
