Actiontec V1000H (2 of dems)

Hi all. Glad to find this forum. I have been thinking about connecting computers at home for a while now but am not experienced with it. I mean I can get them connected sure, but is it all secure? How open will the shares be to potential threats... So for now I cart a stick back and forth if needed. Anyways, I thought I would look in to this a little more since I just found a router at the goodwill for about a dollar.

It is the exact same one my ISP gave me to connect online. So I have one...
