Question to @RMerlin, @sfx2000 and maybe other experts and developers:

I’ve prepared a test build of firmware for R9000 (Alpine AL-514, Cortex-A15) with hardware acceleration of OpenSSL using cryptodev engine, /dev/crypto (cryptodev-linux, https://github.com/cryptodev-linux/cryptodev-linux). But there are a bit strange for me results of OpenSSL test. For example:

Hi im new to this home server universe

I have a lot of DVD's which I want to have free access to by ripping them and put them to some device, where I can stream from. I want to stream at my laptop, cell phone and tablet. I want the cheapest solution where it's still possible to stream outside my home/network. I though about bying this:

I'm sorry if these questions were already answered, i browsed a bit but couldn't find what i really want to know.

I have a rather slow USB flash drive connected to the router.. either that or it's the router's fault because the cpu sticks to 100% when writing (at around 8.5MB/s) and 90% when reading (around 12MB/s).. anyway, using SMBv1 or SMBv2 get's me the same speeds and the same cpu utilization.

What i really wanted to know is if my network is really compromised if i instead used SMBv1...

I'm running a pi-hole on my network and I'm trying to get the router to broadcast it's IPv6 address instead of the router.

For IPv4, all the clients receive the correct DNS address of 192.168.1.10, but for IPv6, they all get ::1, which is the routers address. I have put the address of the pihole in the "IPv6 DNS Server 1", but it doesn't make any difference. All IPv6 address assigned to each device continue to be ::1. When I manually change them on the devices, everything works.

Hey guys. I am running Asuswrt-Merlin firmware on my RT-AC68U and I quite like it for the most part, but I feel like there are a couple simple changes that could be made to the VPN client side of things that would really improve the experience.

hello,

i had the stock firmware and my router used to mess up a lot, it would slow down randomly and keeps getting disconnected and would require me to factory reset it every few weeks so it gets better.

i tried many of the stock firmwares and still the same problem, so i upgraded to merlin today and it seems to work fine, no disconnections so far, but torrents not downloading, i did factory reset, still didnt help.

Downloaded RT-N66U_3.0,0.4_376.49z-5.zip extracted to RT-N66U_3.0.0.4_376.49_5 and got three files in there with a .trx file that I assume is what I try to use as the new upload. Go to Admin/Firmware Upgrade and select that .trx file to use for the upgrade and I get this message.

On my new RT-AC3100 (Replaced my dead RT-AC66U)

Using latest Asuswrt-Merlin 380.67.

I'm can't seem to connect to some sites with this firmware.

For example.. https://gitlab.com it just times out..

But if I use latest Asus Firmware this site any a few others works fine.

As this is a new RT-AC3100, I flashed Asuswrt-Merlin 380.67, did a factory reset after flash too.

But like I said the Official Asus firmware works fine.. This is my only issue with Merlins Build.

I wanted to know if anyone could help me get WAN access to my home router.

I replaced my expensive Comcast Cable Modem with a Cell phone running on 4G LTE.

I use a WiFi hotspot on the phone (to take advantage of my carrier's unlimited data plan that only slows down after I have used 23GB and demand for bandwidth is high) that connects to a WiFi to Ethernet bridge.

The Ethernet from the bridge plugs into the WAN port of my Asus Router (one of those T-Mobile Cellpoint versions of the ASUS...

I am not sure if this has anything to do with my change from tls-auth to tls-crypt, or configuring openvpn and the webgui with custom certs... but my router refuses to automatically start openvpn server instance 2 after reboot. I have to log in to the webgui, and "apply" advanced settings of server2 for it to work after reboot. Everything else is working as it is supposed to: n66u, 380_67, absolution-sh (3.9)... and I've got dnssec enabled. Not sure what else to add to this... maybe logs...

Hello to all. I've hot an external USB 3.0 hard drive from Western Digital. When I connect this hard drive to my blue USB 3.0 PC port with its original USB 3.0 wire/cable there's a blue LED light in the top of the hard drive. If I connect the same hard drive with the same wire/cable to the USB 3.0 port on my Asus RC-AC68U the LED light starts to blink but in white color, not blue. I went through the setup for IP monitoring and it looks like it's doing everything it should but I see no traffic or hosts when I look at Per Device/Real-Time. Global/Real-time looks normal but looking at Per Device/Real-time Traffic at the bottom, I see no hosts listed and when I click on Hosts, it says "No data in table". Will it actually show traffic in real time or is it just going to the file on the USB drive and you have to read it from there??

Any assistance would be greatly...

2.4 G radio is inop as of tonight. 5 G is working as usual, but I'm wondering if anyone has encountered the same problem on the RT-AC3200. I have had 380.67 installed and working from the release date, so I'm not sure what happened.
I tried a factory reset, loading the ASUS firmware, and am back to Merlin. Still no 2.4 G.
How would I trouble shoot the issue effectively. Ideas? When I do the site survey, I see some 2.4g nets, but my router is not generating anything.

Hi Everyone

looking a bit of advise, i have recently upgraded to an asus ac3200 but the wifi isn't the greatest, I'm considering sending it back and buying 2 routers (same brand and model) so i can put the second one upstairs as an AP as i cant mount a proper AP to the ceiling

the reason my wifi is struggling is because all the walls in my home are concrete

could someone advise on a decently priced router

Hi folks

I have Asus RT-AC68U and I am having some issues with the wireless range.

I am connected to the router with Asus PCE-AC68 adapter and only getting 70Mbps from a distance of 30ft on the 2.4GHz band and my iphone is not getting signal at all.
I feel that this is not normal and I should be getting a stronger signal.

After doing some research I am considering replacing the device with Netgear nighthawk X4S (R7800) but I am still not sure if that would improve the wireless range.

I noticed I can now see all the additional Channels I could see as if I was at home connected to Wifi. However, when I go to play one of the channels, it comes up and just stays blank.
